After licking their wounds and pride from their fight with the General, Zidane and the others decide to rush to Cleyra, where the King and other refugees of Burmecia had fled to.

Cleyra, a mystic tree settlement that was started when former Burmecians who rejected the path of Dragoons and War, welcomed the King and the party with open arms, allowing them refuge and assistance. However, not too soon, another familiar friend is in trouble due to a sacred beast running amok.

Puck, the rat child now revealed to be Prince of Burmecia, was under attack by the monsterous Antlion, forcing Zidane and his party to take out the beast. After greeting his friend and bidding VIvi farewell, Puck once again leaves the party to answer to his father. Grateful, King (I know he doesnt have a true name but for sake I'll give him one) Oberon shows happiness that his son is alive. The High Priest then announces that the peace ritual between Cleyra and Burmecia is needed, requesting Freya to partake as a sign of peace and respect. While the show itself is magnificant (who knew the Burmecians and Cleyrans were such good River Dancers! Bravo!), it was responded by the snapping of the Harp's string, showing a terrible omen as the Sandstorm that was powered by the Harp's Crystal has dissipated.


Meanwhile, in Alexandria, Steiner and Marcus are seen in a suspended cage, both still arguing that the fact Brahne was not the same one Adelbert remembered, who was more concerned with Dagger than his prediciment. During this time, Dagger is summoned by her mother and finally gets to ask her questions. Brahne, fearing that Burmecia's Dragoons were too strong, opted a Pre-Empetive strike and had wiped out the kingdom. Still not trusting her mother but feigning belief, Dagger is then captured by Kuja, placing her under a deep Sleep spell. Showing her true side, Brahne demands her Jesters to begin her next plan.

Since the beginning of the game, we seen powers to Dagger she yet touched. The power to summon powerful Eidoions were the true goal of Brahne, seeing her daughter nothing more than a means as she has Zorn and Thorn extract her summons for her own arsenal.
