Let's Play Gorogoa #06: The 2012 Demo
Completing the game unlock access to the 2012 demo which, while similar in many ways to what I've just gone through, has its fair share of differences. The story lacks a lot of the deeper meaning conveyed through glimpses into the child's future, focusing instead on the puzzles and the journey of collecting the various offerings. It's fascinating to see both what wasn't and what could've been, especially scenes and puzzles that didn't make the cut.
Gorogoa may have been short, but it was a truly fascinating experience. The puzzles were clever and beautiful, the story deep, the gameplay solid. The music was never intrusive, adding to the atmopshere of the journey which I was excited to be on. It's a great example of why game length is far from the most important thing and if you love a challenge, I'd wholeheartedly suggest you give this a game a try for yourself.
What's next then? A particular piece of sad news in the gaming industry has spurred me to play a game that has waited long enough for my attention. A continuation of something I loved to bits, I can only hope that it will live up to expectations and delivery something that will leave my eyes wide in both surprise and joy.
See you next let's play!
