Let's Play Quake 2 The Reckoning #16: And Suddenly, it's Over
Our objective is clear, our path to it direct. Only the final boss and what few of their underlings stand between us and the end and while we might not have the BFG10k - where WAS that hidden anyway? - we have a literal arsenal at our fingertips to show the Strogg that humanity is not a race they should be messing with.
I really enjoyed this expansion. It stayed true to the formula of the main game while adding little extras that gave it its own character. The new weapons were interesting and the enemies forced me to play very differently, especially the shielded gladiator with their blasty cannon. The lack of unique bosses was a letdown, though the first game also under-delivered on that and it was stilla fantastic experience. If you want more of Quake 2, this is a great way to continue blasting through Strogg while keeping it fresh.
We're not done with Quake 2, however. There's one more expansion pack we've yet to look at, one that at least one person has hinted is harder than everything that's come before. Let's see if that's the case and whether it's a fitting capstone to what has so far been a very fun journey through an FPS I should've played a long time ago.
