Let’s Play HC Minecraft Take Three #25: Diving for Danger

After our close call last time, it’s safe to say that I’m going to be a lot more wary when it comes to exploring about underwater. You run out of air very quickly and once that’s depleted, your health follows close behind. There are ways to replenish your oxygen while underwater, though with the scant amount of time your breath lasts it’s not the most reliable method of prolonging your time beneath the waves. Enchanted equipment is more reliable, though getting the correct enchantment will take a lot of time. There’s a helmet you can make which gives you extra time underwater but doing so is a long process indeed.
Until such a time as we get an enchanted helm, we’ll have to plan our dives a lot more carefully. Planning our actions before we go underwater will be essential, as will destroying any blocks in the way that’d make surfacing difficult. Then there’s the drowned that we’ll need to keep our eyes open for, a threat we don’t have the time to deal with when we have only seconds. All in all, diving down for treasure is a lot more dangerous than I thought it would be and I’m only glad we were given a scare before rather than a game over.
