Let’s Play HC Minecraft Take Three #51: Many are the Perils of Exploration

You may think from watching my videos that exploring about the unknown wilderness on horseback is a long but safe process, but that’s far from true. Many are the dangers of riding about and most of them come about from how fast you are. The faster your horse is, the less time you have to react to discovering danger. On top of that, you have both yourself and the horse to save, making what would normally be a simple matter far more complicated.
The biggest danger while riding about are holes that you won’t see until its too late. Some of them are only small, the peril coming about from being stuck while monster close in. Others are full of deep water, posing a risk to your steed only. I’m sure I need not mention how dangerous lava is for both you and your steed, but ravines are something to take particular note of. With your eyes focused on the horizon, it can be difficult to spot the long hole in the ground that will send you plummeting into the depths. Even if your horse somehow survives, you’ll be trapped down there as night slowly creeps closer and you desperately struggle to dig your way up.
I know what you’re thinking: you think you can easily jump the ravines with your horse. While I commend your bravado, don’t try it. It’s not likely to end well at all.
