Let's Play Malcolm's Revenge #03: Avoiding the Spotlight
156Back when Malcolm was the self-appointed ruler of Kyrandia, he had no difficulty attracting attention wherever he went. His outfit is indeed distinctive but considering his original profession it made perfect sense, though it was more his wanton use of destructive magic that made people aware he was around. He certainly didn't mind in the first game, relishing the chance to show off his power and laugh at the misfortune he bestowed upon people. If you'd of asked him at the time, he'd of been quite approving of all the terrified eyes upon him.
Times have changed however. Robbed of his magic powers by the bolt of lightning that freed him from his petrification, he doesn't have the power that he once had to defeat the magicians of Kyrandia. They don't know that he doesn't have his magic anymore of course, but all it'd take is for one of them to capture him for them to find this out. As such, we need to avoid encountering people who'd be able to recognise Malcolm for who he is, at least until we've made or found a disguise. It'd have to be a pretty good one, but I'm sure we can scrounge one up from somewhere if we look hard enough.
If anyone will be fooled by it is another question entirely, of course.
