With all the currently accessible side missions on Motavia completed, it’s time to head over to Zelan and see just what’s going on up on that artificial satellite. Responsible for controlling all the environmental systems on Motavia, Demi has good reason to believe that the source of the problems the planet faces can be found there but we haven’t been able to access it until now, what with it being in space and all. That’s about to change however, for Demi has made available to us an emergency shuttle that had been concealed in a spaceport concealed underground until now. Hopefully it has auto-pilot as the group don’t exactly have the training to pilot a spacecraft that’s roughly a thousand years old and even if Demi could bring up the user’s manual, I imagine it’s a little larger than a fold-out leaflet.

It’s at this point that the game is beginning to open up to the rest of the Algo system, signalling the end of the early phases of the story. Far from being the main villain of the game, Zio is little more than a speed bump on the road, albeit one that killed the best character in the game and thus, one I seriously dislike. Motavia is still in peril despite Chaz and the group’s best efforts to save it and so it’s logical to presume that another, more powerful enemy is truly behind what’s going on. Could that enemy be the ‘Dark Force’ that Zio mentioned, the god he so zealously revered?

The foreshadowing is so strong I could bottle it up and sell it as a cologne, so it’s safe to assume that’s the case. The only question is, will we find this person – if Dark Force is a person – on Zelan? Let’s find out, shall we?
