It's clear that something else is going on in this temple beyond Cyric worshippers having taken it over. Dark and sinister thoughts are seeping into the minds of those present, ones that they cannot shake no matter how much they try. Though there are many that have the ability to mess with people like that, one group of creatures excels at it along with dominating all those about them that they deem lesser.

You don't encounter one of these in the first game of the series and in the second they pop up once on the main storyline and again in a sidequest, but they should never be underestimated. They possess great aptitude for magic and can bend even the strongest of wills to their whims if given half the chance. The only thing we have going for us right now is that they don't know we're here and if they do, they likely underestimate what we're capable of.

Let us hope that this is their undoing.
