Let's Play Wolfenstein: The New Order [Part 33] - Return to Deathshead's Compound

Gameplay of GOTY every year, Wolfenstein: The New Order. In this episode of the LP, we Return To Castle Wolfenstein-- I mean, Deathshead's compound. I'm pretty sure I used that pun in the video as well because I don't have an original bone in my body. But that's why playthroughs are great! You can just fall back on the gameplay and story and let the game do the talking.

Okay, enough nonsense. We going hard now. We're back to Deathshead's compound, where all this crazy time-wimey shenaniganry began, and we've brought with us a terrifying number of nuclear warheads. Looks like Deathshead is about to meet warhead, who will result in his untimely Death. Hahaha! No but seriously, the gameplay has not gotten easier. You'd think I would learn to get better at playing the game as I played it and progressed through the marvelous and sometimes hilarious narrative, but that is not the case. Instead we're treated to explosions and death. Sorry Blazkowicz, I've let us all down.

Speaking of Blazkowwicz, I should probably do a rundown of the story and our main character's motivations. So obviously Deathshead is a jerk and we're trying to take him down because, hey, Nazi's aren't exactly the most tolerant group of people in the world and thus it's probably best for them to not be charged with ruling the world. Everybody knows this, and it's pretty much the core of the storyline of Wolfenstein The New Order, every other Wolfenstein game, and pretty much every WWII game in general. But this time it's personal! Those wacky nazi's have slain American rock Legend Jimi Hendrix, and stolen away our boy's, Blazkowicz's, girlfriend/lover/nurse/fiancee/radio operator Anya. It's our job to get her back by shooting Nazis and pressing buttons in true Wolfenstein fashion.

Also there are giant robots. That's kind of important to the story what with the retro-futuristic hijinks going on. FYI, we're going to shoot them too because that's the core of the gameplay of Wolfenstein The New Order because it's and FPS game, which stands for First Person Shooter, which refers to games which primarily feature gameplay that involves shooting from a first-person perspective. Let me know if I'm going too fast.
