Before we delve into the game proper, it’s best that we familiarise ourselves with the controls and mechanics that we’ll be using all the way through. The tutorial performs that function well while tying it into the plot of the game itself. While it would be easy to presume that everyone knows how Deus Ex controls, I know for a fact that some will be watching this video having never seen the original game in any form, another reason to give people an opportunity to familiarise themselves with how the game functions.

It’s entirely optional, though there are things there that you won’t see anywhere else in the game as well as the first subtle hints that not everything is as it seems. That fact may be a given nowadays with the number of entries the series has, but they’re things you likely would’ve missed on your first playthrough way back when the game was first released. It’s these little details that are one of the many reasons why the game is so awesome in my opinion.
