Saving often is a sensible idea in this game, no matter what difficulty you're playing on. Saving in multiple slots is even better, ensuring you don't accidentally save in an unwinnable situation and lose a lot of progress. I've done that on more then one occasion, one memorable one being saving the exact moment before a cyberdemon's rocket hits me, killing me stone dead. No amount of reloading was going to save me and in the end I had to redo the previous level and most of the one I'd been on to rectify my mistake.

Even if you're an old hand at the game series and know the levels back to front, things can easily go against you causing the enemies to kill you. More often than not however it's the player being too close to a wall when firing a rocket or getting complacent when at low health that gets you killed. In this episode more then any other, dying is a real possibility almost anywhere, especially with all the hidden enemies the game springs on you with little to no warning.

Unlike the other dead marines Doomguy sees around though, we have the power to warp time and space around us so we can go back and retry as many times as needed. So far, we've not had to do that but even at this late stage, you should never say never.

At 20:14 there is a cut segment due to an audio issue. No commentary is lost.
