Look Outside - How To Get Rat Child To Join Your Party And Unlock They Grow Up So Fast Achievement!
0In order to earn the They Grow Up So Fast... achievement, you must save the Rat Child from the mouth on the wall on the first floor, take it back to your apartment, and continue interacting with it to feed it, play with it, etc. until it grows up.
From the stairwell, head to the first floor. Once you are on the first floor, head west past 3 intersections. After the third intersection, you will see a door on the south wall. Enter this door to be taken to an apartment where you will hear a baby crying. From the main room, head through the door on the eastern wall and grab the Child Barrier Key off of the table. Head back to the main room and use the Key on the child barrier to the south.
Enter the room that is now open and interact with the crib. When asked, pick up the child. It will turn out to be a Rat Child! TRY to bring it with you, but it will say it disgusts you, and you end up leaving it in the crib. Leave the room. As you try to leave the apartment, the rat child will have followed you. Interact with it, and it will climb into your pack. Make sure to loot everything you can, and leave the apartment.
Once outside of the apartment, head east past two of the intersections you passed earlier. You will see a door on the north wall (room 13). Speak to the mouth on the wall, and when asked, choose "Leave" to refuse feeding the rat child to it. Now, leave the room, and you will be in an infinite hallway. Head back up through the door you just exited, and once again, speak to the mouth on the wall.
When asked a second time to feed the rat child to it, choose "Leave" again, and this time the mouth will ask why you will not feed it. When you have the option, choose to instead offer one of your arms! You will now be forced to pick which arm to lose, and choosing one locks you out of using melee or ranged for the rest of the game!
After choosing which arm to lose, you will pass out for a bit. After you come to, the rat child will be curled up next to you. It will be very grateful to you for saving it. Grab the Earth Disc off of the floor and head back to your apartment. Once you enter your apartment, the rat child will leave your pack and stay in your house.
Now, keep interacting with the Rat Child. Feed it, care for it, talk to it, etc. You can do this multiple times a day until it gets tired, and will rest for a few hours. As you care for it, it will eventually grow legs and take its first steps, and even say its first words! Keep at it, and eventually when you go to bed, it will be grown, able to join your party, and unlocking the achievement!
