Look Outside - How To Find The Laughing Mold And Unlock The Mycelihumor Achievement!
1In order to unlock the Mycelihumor achievement, you must find, and defeat, the Laughing Mold. Well, that's what the achievement says anyways....but apparently, you can also talk your way out of a fight to get it to work as well. I am unsure if the dialog options even matter because you can get the achievement w/o a fight, but it also says to defeat it so.....yeah. Seems like you get this as long as you just encounter it.
The Laughing Mold is in the Basement level in an area infested with fungi. You will need the Basement Key from the Landlord's apartment on the ground floor to unlock the door in the stairwell.
Take the stairwell all the way to the bottom, and use the Basement Key to unlock the door. Go south one screen, and from here, you can either go south to get through the sewer (if this is your first time here), or go through the shortcut to the west if you have made it through the sewer and unlocked the shortcut. Either way, you want to get to the room with all of the friendly monster NPCs.
Once you are in the room with the friendly monster NPCs, head south through the door by them, and then south once again in the next room. Once again, head south through the next door to get to the mushroom puzzle room.
Stepping on mushrooms that are not protruding from the ground will cause all other mushrooms to switch between up and down positions, opening new paths. This is VERY simple. Just make your way to the east side of the room. Once you get to the east side, make sure the mushroom to the dead end path is down, step on it and walk past it. This will cause the mushroom to rise up, blocking you, and trapping you in this small area.
After waiting a while, the mushroom blocking the path will become the Laughing Mold. Run into the enemy to start a conversation with it. It will want to practice its standup routine on you. As stated earlier, I am not sure if these answers even matter, BUT, I will list the choices I took here (just to be on the safe side). Answer the Laughing Mold in this order:
1) ...uh, alright. Go ahead.
2) HAHAHAHAHAHA!!
3) HAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
4) HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAAAAA!!!
5) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!
6) This was hilarious!
7) No! I really thought this was hilarious!
8) The absurdity of the whole situation.
After choosing these, the conversation ended with me not having to fight the Laughing Mold, and the achievement unlocked!
