LOST - The Game | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
Back when I was in highschool probably one of the biggest shows on tv was called LOST. I remember watching the first two seasons, but then got a bit tired of having to wait every year for a new season to come around. In 2025 I started to rewatch LOST again as all the seasons are available and it is a great way to work on my cardio by walking on the treadmill while watching a few episodes of LOST everyday.
That inspired me to check out and archive the old LOST Via Domus game that came out for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. It was developed by Ubisoft, but I remember it getting pretty lackluster reviews back in the day. Now that I have played it for myself I can see why the reviews stated that, though there are some things to like for fans of the show.
Many of the cast actually have lended their faces to the game and a few actually voice their characters as well. It was cool to see and interact with all the beloved characters from the show like John Locke, Hurly, Claire, Sun, Kate, Sawyer and Jack. Lost Via Domus plays more like an adventure game where you have to solve various puzzles by talking to different characters and figuring out what they want. There are a few combat sequences and chase scenes, but 90% of the time you will be walking around, talking to people and soaking in the atmosphere.
And it was also cool to see all the locations from the show including the Hatch, The Pearl and even Hydra Station. But probably where the game fails a bit is that it all feels very rushed as the game jumps from event to event without informing the gamer what happens in the story. The writers chose to make the player an additional person on the plane and the story pans out to where it does not conflict with the show as you are just one of the "extras"in the background. But what this results in is that all the important things that happen in the show happen without you. That means that the story is incredibly confusing for people not familiar with the show and even for me who just watched it, it was confusing at times as we jump between scenes so fast and abruptly.
After playing Indiana Jones and seeing how much love and attention that franchise got, I kinda wish that LOST would get the same treatment. The first season of LOST is still one of the most amazingly written stories for tv ever with so many mysteries and questions it brings up. If we could have a modern adventure game with current graphics and a more fleshed out story and varied gameplay I think we would get an awesome product. Hopefully someday we will get another shot at a LOST videogame.
