The Order 1886 | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
89Today we archive a game that I have a weak spot for. The Order 1886 came out on the PlayStation 4 and was supposed to be a power house in terms of graphical performance. It had to showcase what the PS4 could do in terms of graphics. The game looked (and still looks) absolutely stunning, but to achieve that the creators had to resort to 24fps and letterboxing. It got very mixed reviews and some mentioned that it felt more like a movie than a game with very little gameplay to speak of.
Now I actually bought this game many years later for probably only 20 bucks or so and for that price I think the game is great. Though the game is indeed very linear, the story, setting and characters are top quality. It plays like a third persion action game and can also been seen as Sony's Gears of War. It is set in a Victorian Steam Punk London as we play a member of the Round Table who hunt Werewolves and other creatures.
The game's pacing is great and all the enviroments are so detailed that I just adore running and shooting through them. It is a shame that the game was such a flop as I have heard that Sony has no intentions of ever making a sequel despite such an open end that clearly hints to another chapter. I know there is a cult following who loves this game and I am definitely part of that, so maybe in the future we will get our wish and will return to this awesome setting once more.
