Oh, riiiight... that's what I get for my ironic unironic invocation of excess irony to avoid temptation of fate... there is in fact a break of sorts in the action as I suspected. Unfortunately, it's because I'd forgotten about exactly which series was upcoming that the irony backfired in a fashion that I wasn't prepared for.

Puzzle 37: Arrow Up x2

As if the sheer number of puzzles in this progression were hard-pressed to justify their own existence before. Well, that's not entirely fair. The Arrow Up definitely deserved to exist. If (and that's a pretty big "if") we're to justify the existence of any other arrows, the easiest should come first... one side-facing arrow is pretty neat, but at this point in the puzzle progression, I'd say we would've been fine with just Up as simply "Arrow"...

Now, it's not entirely fair to say that these also have a similar lack of right to exist, because at the very least, they ARE reasonably complex constructions and having to do anything reasonably complicated twice is a challenge worth taking up. Just... maybe if they'd come up with more reasonably varied reasonably complicated reasonable challenges... be reasonable!

I hope at least you can taste the bitter tears of frustration when I end up making an impulsive move that just doesn't work how I wanted to and then makes me afraid to do anything else without excess certainty for the remainder of the running time. Which... in spite of containing both a mistake and a lot of hesitation on a x2 puzzle... surprisingly didn't take very long.

Oh boy, I bet you can't wait for the next three puzzles to be gone and done.
