I think, hesitantly speaking, that I can relax a bit about what might be forthcoming for a few more puzzles before the heat really cranks up... because all the endgame puzzles are reasonably complex and space-intensive to complete once, let alone twice.

Now that I'm done tempting fate and all, the hard puzzles can pile on in to make me regret my unswaying cautious optimism. (Now we're left to wonder whether my attempt to transparently tempt my earlier temptation of fate ironically cancels it out or my open statement now cancels THAT out. You have fun figuring that one out, fickle causality!)

Puzzle Mode
Puzzle 36: Horse x2

I remember my earlier vote of surprised admiration at how sthe Horse puzzle is a and simplistic-seeming puzzle that's also a surprisingly elegant review of all the skills with organic shapes we (allegedly) built on the animals series.

It's also, interestingly enough, a puzzle that finally forces you to do some work in order to come to terms with a decent amount of negative space filler in the aftermath of the first clear. I keep talking about it, it's about time it actually happens, right?

...or it would have, except my response to being forced to reconcile with the remainder was... not dealing with it. Since the first clear happened to leave behind a Horse-shaped outline, I decided my task would be best served by just filling the mold back up with the same color so as to cast myself a forgery. Counterfeit Horse!

I guess, technically... not dealing with it is a response in and of itself. It's actually not something I think about... I'm always focused on completing one puzzle iteration before worrying over the second (if the first doesn't get made, you won't get the chance to make another), so it's actually pretty rare to see that what I built already didn't generate any chain reaction clears, so it wasn't really a plan coming together as much as it was me seeing an opportunity and trying to capitalize.

And still I managed to mess some of it up! Obviously, adapting to a mistake or a mistaken clear (and one often begets another) is a big part of what we're doing here, so it's really just as well.

Uh... and the horse you rode in on!

... ... ...

Sorry, I just really wanted to say that, and I couldn't for the life of me contrive up an excuse for it, so... I just said it. There.
