Now, I was originally intending to cycle this one out with some other material for uploads... because, let's face it... Lumines is already oversaturating the queue with action-puzzle... uh... action. (Inaction? It's relative, I suppose.) There's also the fact that... uh... this game is... it's not what I'd call "good" for a number of reasons, but I've also already said that it is a spectacle worth taking in if you like Kirby, Puyo, or just action puzzles in general.

So my plan (if we can ever successfully accuse me of having one of those things, whatever it is) was actually to keep Lumines on its present course to help get its Puzzle Mode polished off (and maybe move onto some more exciting spectacles it has to offer, but that depends on the nature of the flavor left in my mouth after so long), something old in terms of my project backlog being put on hiatus, and something actually old...as in like more than twenty years old that I've wanted to get to but had otherwise been unable. Sounds like a fair blend of things, I think... maybe. If you disagree, I encourage you to throw up your arms in disgust and storm away from the computer, because this, THIS! This is clearly the time to decide you've had enough of my hijinks, not hundreds of videos and their thousands of words apiece prior. I do congratulate you for holding out this long, though.

... ... ...

So did the mob of angry villagers with pitchforks finish exiting? I wanted to leave some time before I carried on. Because furthermore, as you can see... this is still Kirby's Avalanche and not something different. I guess it's just the excitement that takes a lot of your vigor out of you if you happen to capture an entire new project (small-ish though it might be) in one night and start uploading it immediately, so I'm hoping to get a rotation started up again instead of powering on through with one project... in theory, for the collective sanities of all involved and not just my own. (But totally my own.)

If you plan to stick around, just make sure you don't get trampled while the smaller remaining mob of angry villagers makes their exit at this point and I'll see you on the other side!

Competition, Lesson 2: Bronto Burt

This game... this... game... remember how everything in Kirby games are mostly mute pantomimes and subtle and understated and whimsical and cute? Notice how this game is... none of those things? In fact, I'd go so far as to say that Kirby is sociopathically (instead of just childishly or thoughtlessly) self-absorbed and cruel at times, but how seriously a violation of character traits you find that to be might vary from person to person.

The other things about it are how the whole game is predicated on the vocal stylings of a grand total of two people... and some really bizarre deliveries of certain character names. I mean, they're not WRONG... they're just said... in some pretty outlandish fashions. I think maybe it's supposed to help cover for how there aren't but two people to go around for it, particularly since they seem to alternate. Maybe you'll forget! Maybe! If they weren't so completely jarringly noticeable.

So... what IS a Bronto Burt. What's so "Bronto" about him? The name's catchy, though, I'll grant him that.

Oh, and in case you were thinking that I was showing off unnecessarily much, perhaps even padding the early running times because of how relatively short-lived single-round matches can be... and I must assure you that such a notion is a preposterous lie and a totally unfounded at that, because you can see me playing Puyo Pop Fever if you choose, and the proof is in the pudding.

Mostly all that I'm up to here is trying to refresh my chaining recognition and reflexes while I still have the chance... and because of how the game works, you probably won't see any chains this big for the remainder of the game unless the AI player feels like being a bully, but you really never know.

So yeah, these will remain short, regardless of what actually occurs within the matches themselves, and I'm actually somewhat impressed with how relatively concise this series overall is. I say "overall"... because there are a couple of bad eggs here and there, but nothing to much fret over. The series itself isn't nearly as drawn-out as anything Lumines can toss at us, so there's no need to double 'em up either... I'll work on the dividing up the workload, too, but that is entirely predicated on my being... somehow not lazy. So there's really no way of telling what tomorrow could bring. (At least I didn't take a weekly day of rest, huh? Still fired up! ...ish. Yes, ish! Woo~!)
