I don't want to alarm you, but we are rounding the final stretches in terms of original formations to be charged with replicating... well, sort of. You'll see what I mean later, but it's definitely something to be aware of as the designs get progressively more devious, perhaps in some unexpected ways.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that while Clear All was my personal demon, each of what's to follow has at least some logic in being placed even past that one... so, beware. Follow along the visual spectacle as close as you dare! It's much... I guess "easier" to mentally follow the action if you're the one in control, at least if you ask me... which means technically here on out, I'm just as likely to be put out of sorts trying to figure out how to proceed as anyone else. After all, static video footage also puts me out of control, and I have to punch that little voice in my head that yells at the me who played this for not doing what the me of the present wants to see done.

Maybe it's a weird personal battle of the selves that I simply can't turn off when I watch this kind of thing, though.

Puzzle 18: Big G

But... but! There was no Small G! Rules and order to the puzzle naming scheme and progression are all out the window!

Well, looking at it, a Small G would by necessity be just about this big anyhow... and you don't want to be charged with making a "Small g"...because that'd be just as tall and even more intricate... and Lumines doesn't even have lowercase letters in its font repertoire in the first place, so we mustn't be confusing people now!

On the topic of the actual G itself... a spiral-shaped formation is surprisingly difficult to execute without upsetting one of the layers as you build. In this case, you're definitely working more closely with both your available colors than ever before, and one mistake in one of them is liable to not only be difficult as usual to fix... but it's extremely unlikely to make any attempt at reparation without breaking the next layer... and that will probably break the next layer if you try fixing it, too.

So, it is with no small amount of hesitation that such an "obvious" shape as we are likely to see every day actually receives my commendation of the most surprisingly devious Lumines construct to date. (You have to watch out for those Gs! Now see if you ever trust one so willingly again...)

I find this personally surprising, because this puzzle only has two tiles flipped in color from the previous, almost "surprisingly easy" Big Square... of course, all this comes with some degree of built-in subjectivity, so you may feel free to disagree with my personal analysis, as always.
