Magical Cannon Wars [魔砲大戦] Game Sample - Android
NOTE: For whatever reason, this game is fairly loud...this is after reducing the sound.
As you can see by the side image, the game is also referred to as "Magical Cannon Girls"...at any rate, the game is from "RONJI" and is a vertical shooter made back in 2011. It is an okay game that pays homage to the style of some vertical shooters of yore, or so it is said. The game is not like "danmaku" (bullet curtain/curtain fire...some also refer to danmaku as bullet hell) shooters, so it is easier than some...probably easy even by non-danmaku standards. However, it is totally playable...though I can't help but find the "Google Translate" English to be funny! Still, as one who is capable of finding meaning in Google Translate or Babelfish translations, I know that they tried (even though it is pretty horrible even by "Engrish" standards) and because the game is free (though there is a donate version), it is fine, though it will need work in the future if future paid versions of games come from RONJI.
You control a magical girl (魔法少女 mahō shōjo, or mahou shoujo) named Akari who is forced to fight other magical girls. The girls you fight each represent a different territory and they are fighting so they can prove that their territory is strongest...really, the story is pretty lopsided, and I am not saying that simply due to the translation. You can read some more about the game at:

What you basically should know from watching this video is that you collect a few typical vertical shooter weapons (homing, laser, straight, etc.) and you have a bomb that can destroy SOME (not all...so be careful) bullets. Also, you collect drops from enemies and if you get enough, you can increase your maximum HP. I am VERY surprised the game has a wiki-style page for it...and I tried to play the sequel, but the game has been removed from the Google Play store and I ran a version of the game I found, but it crashes right after you touch the title screen or press something (I tried on my PC and tried the game on my phone). The sequel seems as though it had 3 characters and it looked marginally better in screenshots. There is a "donate" version of MCW1 as well (I believe there was only a donate version of MCW2) and the differences of that game from the free version of MCW1 is:
- No advertising
- "Character description" Add
- "Boss Battle Mode select" Add
- "Music" Adding fix mode
- You can also add or modify something in the mood · variety?
^ That was generally copied from the game description in the Google Play store. Speaking of the Google Play store...you can find this game at:
