In this episode I'll show you how to take a "clean" looking Quixel asset and make it weathered and dirty with Substance Painter. I'll explain the whole process from exporting and preparing the asset for use in Substance Painter, then add various grunge layers and finally export it out again so we can use the textures in Unreal Engine.

Even if you're not a UE user, the Substance workflow is really what it's all about and will be the same if you're using other 3D apps as your destination. Enjoy!

With a bit of practice you'll age assets in no time. I'm using the following Quixel asset if you want to follow along with me: https://www.fab.com/listings/33ae2dd4-cec5-498f-92af-e7cd6eeb590f

Enjoy!
