What does Kdenlive have to do with all this? Well its the video editor I use and it's a notoriously buggy piece of garbage.
Seriously though, I was moving away from Manjaro back to elementary OS and figured I could make a simple gaming benchmark video whilst doing so. Everything went fine until I had to edit the clips together.
Kdenlive crashed nonstop and apparently added some artifacting to the clips at some point during the editing process. Those weird lines you see in the video, especially during the Rust clips, were no present when I was recording the footage.
Anyway, I thought this video would be fun because Manjaro is based on Arch Linux so its a cutting edge rolling release. ElementaryOS on the other hand is based on Ubuntu LTS and is composed of mostly stale packages, including the Nvidia driver version.
Old vs New packages and drivers, what's there not to love about that?
