OBS Studio Streaming Settings w NVENC | Linux
For this video, I want to share my OBS Studio settings with you to maybe answer some questions folks have about streaming settings and get some feedback.
I know folks are going to quickly point out Streamlabs as an alternative to Open Broadcaster Studio. Thing is, Streamlabs is a fork of OBS - it's the same application with a new skin!
I didn't intend on this video being a guide for OBS because I am hardly an expert. But the discovery I made about down-scaling was pretty awesome and for folks like me who have an awful CPU, OBS tweaks like these can really help!
I do most of my streaming on Linux, specifically Solus, but I also stream on Windows too. Since OBS is cross-platform and can Record or Stream on either Linux or Windows, all of my settings transfer over, which is super cool.
Unless you are aiming for the best quality possible, I strongly recommend aiming for hardware encodings such as NVENC or VCE. x264 may offer better quality but if you are streaming, performance (a smooth stream) is typically more important than sheer quality.
