Do you have to play the previous two games before you play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2? Is it a multiplayer game? And, finally, is it worth $70?

Although I loved the first Spider-Man game and the Miles Morales spin-off, I don’t subscribe to the thought that you HAVE to play every game in a series just so that you can play the newest one. That’s a huge time and financial commitment, and sometimes, you just want to play the same new game that everyone else is playing. It may not be ideal, but you CAN get by with just watching some recap videos on YouTube to catch yourself up.

But you do need to know that, despite this game featuring two playable Spider-Man characters, it is not a multiplayer game. It’s a purely single-player game that has you swapping back and forth between Peter Parker and Miles Morales throughout.

And, I know I’m not the only person who hates paying $70 for video games, because, let’s be honest, not every game is worth it. But, although I haven’t finished playing the game yet, I can confidently say that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the better games I’ve played this year, and it’s been a stacked year.
