I think most people call this the "worst" master level. I have to disagree with that. It is probably the most difficult, especially on a blind run, but I actually do like it. I don't see how someone could say this is worse than Mephisto's Maosoleum at the very least. It is a creative concept, executed in a very annoying way. The elevator itself is one of the worst set pieces ever from any map. Being forced to wait for the lift to go up and down for half the map is a chore, and I cringe every time I miss an exit or get off on the wrong floor because that's another 10 seconds wasted. The archvile jump at the end is also really stupid and unnecessary, but at least its easy with the invuln. Besides that, each individual floor is actually interesting or even fun. I appreciate that the bars for each floor are opened in the previous floor and that I don't have to memorize a complex order to clear each one. The baron wave can absolutely go to hell. That is absolutely the worst place you could ever be fighting barons. I would rather be fighting them in a cramped room. You cannot fire rockets or plasma while it is ascending which are the two best tools for clearing them, so it's going to take an unreasonable amount of time no matter how you go at it.
