Max and Mona continue fighting their way out of the Cleaners' construction site as NYPD arrives to the scene. Eventually, Cleaners retreat with Max and Mona deciding to meet up at one of the nearby rooftops. However, as Mona gets there, she is intercepted by Winterson with two women ending up in an standoff. Just then, Max arrives as well with Mona claiming that Winterson was sent to kill her on behalf of the Cleaners while Winterson tries to get Max to stay out of their confrontation, claiming that she simply intends to arrest her since she is still a suspect in her investigation. As the situation gets more tense, Max makes a split-second decision and shoots Winterson through the stomach, mortally wounding her and urging Mona to run. Gunshot attracts the attention of two nearby police officers who rush to the scene. However, as they approach, dying Winterson uses the last of her strength to shoot Max through the head, causing him to tumble off the rooftop...
