Mega Man X3 Minimalist Speed Run - Doppler's Lab 3
1Part 12 of the MMX3 minimalist speed run.
This is a segmented speed run through Mega Man X3, in it's entirety, under the following restrictions; no weapons, no upgrades, no damage sustained under any circumstance, and no use of Zero (outside of a forced section in the Intro Stage segment.)
Welcome to my fucking nightmare. I don't think this will surprise anyone, but this was the hardest segment by far. Almost every boss in X3 has an element of uncertainty to them. It's usually manageable in a standalone fight against them at the end of a stage. When you're rapid-fire fighting all 8 of them one by one? The necessity for good luck increases 15 fucking fold. I start with Volt Catfish for obvious reasons, but really, every boss has the potential to fuck up a run here. Special shoutouts go to Tunnel Rhino, who has learned to utilize his projectiles in a way that makes him an actual threat. Once we get past that, and if you're curious about the actual numbers, I only ever made it past the entire refights twice in 10+ hours of attempts, we still have a very hard piece of stage to get through. The lasers here require deadly precision to get past. It's not just a matter of dashing fast, you need to time your dashes, and there's ZERO room for error. Maybe it's not so bad on it's own, but at the end of the 8 strong gauntlet, making a mistake is almost a guarantee when my arms are shaking and my heart is pretty much beating out of my chest.
Oh yeah, you fight Doppler here. In case you're still wondering what kind of attacks he uses in X3, I urge you to stop watching, clearly this run is having negative effects on your brain.
