This is not my first playthrough of this demo, but rather my second and third, as I initially played it offline before learning that its music is stream-safe.

I never pulled the trigger on playing BPM, but this feels like if you took that, removed the roguelite elements, infused a full color palette and a lot of Doom 2016 / Painkiller influence, and crammed more than half a dozen legitimate metal bands/vocalists into the soundtrack.

At first glance, this game had the potential to either be completely awesome or tragically fail on mechanics. The good news is it is pretty much entirely the former - this feels really satisfying to play (and the music in the demo level is fiendishly catchy). There's clearly also a strong arcade replayability aspect with the fury multiplier and stats like hit streaks and headshots. This is definitely something I'm excited to get to play more of when it releases.
