Part 21.In the conclusion of Metroid Fusion, Samus encounters her
X-infected doppleganger one last time and with the help of Adam was
able to program the space station to self destruct while having it to
crash at SR388. But before she can escaped, she encounters an Omega
Metroid and nearly gets her butt kicked. Then out of nowhere, the SA-X
saves her and in which Samus absorbs the X gaining the Ice Beam and
putting the Omega Metroid on ice. Although the objective-based formula
hindered Fusion, the graphics, action and gameplay made up for it
considerably.That same year, Nintendo and Retro Studios released the
first 3D Metroid called Metroid Prime taking place after the first
Metroid on the NES. The fifth Metroid game but the second entry in the
story revolving around Samus traveling to Tallon IV that is overrun by
space pirates as well as a mysterious radiating ooze called Phazon.
Throughout her journey, she gained numerous abilities all while
acquiring 12 Chozo Artifacts in the hopes of eradicating the Phazon
from the planet. For the first 3D Metroid game, most of the game was in
first-person while some parts involving the Morph Ball in third-person.
Some of Samus' new abilities such as the ability to use different
visors such as the Scan Visor allowing her to scan various things which
can provide unique info on logs, enemies and bosses and the X-Ray Visor
allowing her to find hidden areas. The Boost Ball was introduced which
gives the Morph Ball a much needed boost of speed giving Samus the
ability to build momentum on halfpipes and work through machinery.
