Part 23.Two years later, a sequel to Metroid Prime would be released
called Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Taking place before Metroid Prime
Hunters and Prime 3 Corruption, Samus travels to the planet Aether in
the hopes of ridding the Phazon menace all while trying to save the
planet from a sinister evil force. Samus encounters the last of the
Luminoth named U'Mos and asks her to transfer energy from the dark
world to the light after a phazon meteorite crashed the planet which
causes the planet to split into two; light and dark. Along the way,
Samus must find nine keys leading to the Sky Temple in the hopes of
ridding the Ing once and for all. To make matters worse, Samus
encounters a dark doppleganger of herself named Dark Samus patrolling
the planet all while trying to combat the Ing, a strange race that
existed in Dark Aether.
