Part 24.Metroid Prime 2 was known to be a game with dual dimensions;
light and dark similar to another Nintendo game called The Legend of
Zelda: A Link to the Past which in some cases doubles the amount of
exploration that Samus can check out. Samus gains some new abilities
such as the Light and Dark Beams, weapons that are more effective in
their opposite realms meaning Light Beam effective in Dark Aether and
Dark Beam effective in Light Aether. These two weapons are the first to
conserve ammunition requiring players to conserve ammo all while trying
to gain more ammo respectively by using them meaning to get more Light
Beam ammo, use the Dark Beam and vice versa. Other upgrades such as the
Echo Visor allows Samus to hear sound waves and open sonic gates while
the Dark Visor allows her to see items trapped in inter-dimensions
along with the Annihilator Beam, a weapon that combines both light and
dark together as well as the Light Suit, a power suit combining both
Chozo technology along with the pure light of the Luminoth.
