I gave the (somewhat) new TA wiki rules a try. I might've broken the no jump attack spam rule but it's really hard to categorize SnS' backhop and I didn't look too heavily into it. Pretty bad start and end, sub 2 with these rules is possible.

3 Max Might 2 Agitator is optimal, but I don't actually have an Agitator deco so I can't run that. It gives like 4 more effective attack compared to 2 Max Might 3 Agitator.

Just wanted to throw in my random thoughts on the TA wiki things. I only looked at a rough translation so some of this might be wrong. Traditionally the rules were to discourage stunlock/hame type setups that just involved you unga-ing the monster on the ground. So the old trap ban and flash bans were the most relevant to that. It also banned Adrenaline/Heroics to avoid damage stagger locks, but that's kind of irrelevant given MHW's laughable thresholds. Cat ban is there too, which makes sense.

So the MHW specific rules are what I want to comment on. The no mantle or booster rule is pretty expected, given that most people love complaining about Rocksteady and the like. Boosters might seem like collateral damage but they did force you into different armor sets and gave every weapon a free 50% affinity for 80 seconds - which is really significant for how low kill times are.

They did an universal slinger ban, which is also expected but it's kind of annoying. See here, trying to interrupt area transitions without flashes is really luck reliant (I should've gone for a mount but I misjudged and thought I could break his right foreleg for a trip instead). The ban of dung pods also sucks for any quests with Bazel involved.

Now for the funny stuff. No environmental damage, no turf wars, no jump attacks. The jump attack stuff I interpreted as being environmental jump attacks, such as the bow pillar strategy and the GS jump attack strategy. Given that SnS' jumping attack is from an attack that doesn't use the environment, I figured it was okay. Same vein as IG vault (though nobody IG vaults cause it's a massive damage loss). Banning it sort of feels like banning SAED, Spirit Thrust, Demon Dance, or any other high damage move other weapons rely on. But that's just how I read it, maybe I am supposed to pretend it doesn't exist.

But anyways, these rules are supposed to cover all the RNG stuff that can give you a massive time decrease that I mentioned in some really old video nobody watched. But the sheer volume of stuff they have to ban is pretty hilarious and kind of shows how much random stuff ends up happening in MHW even relative to older games.

But I'm just a scrub so none of this really matters. Won't be doing too many of these cause I'm bad and I'm lazy. Run done on 1.0 but the only thing that means is I don't have that +6 MV on Roundslash so it should be okay. Still no internet so still no Jho.
