Sometimes you just want to die. Really bad Teo fight, working on getting sub10 with some optimizations and better fights. Obvious disclaimer, don't do this online.

So lets talk suicide, and the optimizations that you can do around killing yourself. So the first issue is getting Fortify on your set, but this is really easy since it's just a Size 1 decoration that's really common. Just slot out an attack deco. Trading 3 raw for 20% attack is a pretty easy deal, it'll make Kushala slightly slower but it really destroys Nergigante and should make Teo faster.

Second is time to die. It takes about 40 seconds to die using the method here, which is to use the lava patch near the wall and heat damage to quickly die. You can lessen the time it takes by exiting the Kushala fight at low HP. Since you only have 2 minutes before a corpse despawns, it's ideal to finish off Kushala with under 40 HP. They removed most other ways to kill yourself since you can't overdose on shrooms now, and bombs give you immunity to damage for too long to be effective. You could try LBB+s but that really blurs the line on what bombs are allowed for so I avoid that. As you can see I'm still really short on setup time for Teo after the 2nd death.

Third is death count. Ideally you want to get 2 stacks of Fortify asap, but as I just said you need Teo setup time. With this strat you need to drink a full set of buffs after the 2nd death which leaves you with no time to apply luxury buffs like Armordrug, Protective Polish, etc. This is actually kind of important cause you can have Affinity Sprayer up for all 3 fights, which means you can do a build which takes more Agitator over Max Might. The problem here is that set is far harder to optimize if you need Protective Polish - which might not be required all things considered. You could try 1 suicide after Kushala and 1 after Teo but that brings us to the next problem.

Fourth is food buffs. These expire when you die, and we're doing a lot of dying here. So the question is how do we get food buffs active for as long as possible. With the 2 death pre-Teo strat you have to quickly eat before Teo's fight. This also leaves me without food for Kushala, which is where the larger time loss comes from. This is also why the 1 death between each fight strat isn't attractive, what do you do about food for Teo. Nerg is already the shortest fight so having max buffs for him saves the least time. You can avoid this by eating for foodie, but this'll increase your max HP and make it unlikely you can fit 2 deaths in before Teo. You could also eat in expedition, wait 10 minutes, and then start the quest so you can do this strat but have food for Kushala. I do neither cause that takes way too long between attempts and I'm just trying to grind decent Kush/Teo RNG.

But for what it's worth, even a 1 death fortify strat might be faster than no fortify. The conditions for Fortify to be good are simply that you need to lose less time from dying and re-engaging than from just living. This isn't true for almost every quest in the game, but the forced wait times in this quest combined with being on Elder's Recess (the only map you can quickly kill yourself in) makes it the perfect storm for ending yourself.
