feel like i'm getting sick again meaning that this will be yet another addition to the times that i have been sick on christmas. probably just going to fuck around at home if i'm unable to go anywhere and eat stroopwafles like i did last year. anyways, welcome to the video. i believed i talked about casiopea previously in the dream hill video but i didn't have the chance to talk about how overrated mint jams is. most normal[slur]s have it as their only exposure to casiopea (besides the live versions of galactic funk from 85 and fightman from vs. t square) and honestly i really do think that the original versions of the songs blow these ones the fuck out. midnight rendezvous is the only acception for me, it's great on the original album and on this. part of that is due to me being a big takashi sasaki fan. motherfucker was a brilliant drummer and it is a damn shame that he was only around for casiopea + super flight. pull up the version of asayake on super flight and compare it to any other one done after sasaki left and it is night and fucking day. now this isn't to say that i don't mint jams, quite the opposite, actually. i do think that it is fucking incredible but most people don't know the sheer style of the shit that preceded it. i guess that's a good thing for me, because i'd be complaining if a bunch of jackasses and queers appropriated such awesome shit. lord knows that has happened before. hell, it happened with the entire idea of anime. it will never stop being weird for me to be going to walmart and seeing anime shit. i remember not too long ago it was still seen as gay and weird by most people and thanks to the wonders of social media now you have more secondaries than there have ever been and children thinking that they're hot shit for reading fucking berserk or whatever epic swag trending media there is (this is sarcasm, fuck social media and fuck secondaries). i'm also fucking sick of seeing ghibli shit everywhere, besides their animation they were never that good. most younger anime fans and also secondaries of all ages praise that shit like it's the second coming of christ when it really has nothing to it besides stellar animation. but even then, a lot of ghibli movies look the fucking same in some way. i haven't seen many besides ones i saw long ago, but i'm not the type to bother with rewatches of shit i did not remotely like years later. miyazaki is a hack and probably my least favorite chinaman who made cartoons. hideaki anno was for a period on the top of that list once i sat down and realized how fucking bad and gay evangelion is for anyone with the mental maturity higher than that of a 14 year old, but i like that anno is actually doing shit that he likes now (the shin movies) and not gay shit. seriously, evangelion is fucking awful. during my drooling weeb [homosexual slur] phase in life i liked it, but i was a bitch ass bitch boy kid who thought that it was le epic and le deep and had le dark themes. once passing the "drooling weeb" phase in to what i like to refer to as "the enlightened passive elitist" phase is great because it allows one to look back on how gay he once was. evangelion was just a bunch of metaphors and symbols that meant fucking nothing strung together in a barely coherent manner that were then dissected by people who thought that they were epic and swag for years to come. new grendizer looks awful and i entirely blame the impact (heh) of evangelion on that. literally, what were they thinking? the only cool thing about it is how mazinger uses the original manga design. actually, the opening theme clip from the trailer sounds cool too. i appreciate that they didn't just use a 21st century version of the original theme (even if i would have liked that better) because they probably could have done that. i probably won't watch grendizer u but i probably will watch the new kinnikuman adaptation if it is good. kinda dissapointed that it's starting with 2011 and not re-adapting scramble for the throne but hey, i'll take what i can get in current year with all of the gay shit in modern chinese cartoons. i do hope that they bring akira kushida back for the opening because that motherfucker is still kicking and would absolutely do a great job on a series that he had already done themes for that were as fantastic as they were.
yknow, it's amazing how i can start with a vague idea of a theme for a description and then just go completely off in a different direction by the end of it. i believe we in the business refer to this as incomprehensible schizo blabber, but hey, it's fun to write and i don't give a shit whether it's fun for the reader to read or not.
genuine question for people who read these: why? i didn't think anyone ever read descriptions on videos anymore. either way, i'll always be making music and insane ramblings for my own enjoyment.
