Unfortunately I'm having a problem with the QXL's host system, a Pentium II Compaq, so this will be continued in Part 1B ... I hope! I'm assuming the issue is simply (🤞) a new CR2340 battery is required, which I can get tomorrow ...

So what is a QXL 2B card? It's essentially a 68040-based Sinclair QL with 4MB memory implemented on a 16-bit ISA card:
https://qxl.win/qxlii_isa_card.htm

The original QL used a 68008 running at 7.5MHz with 128KBytes of RAM. The 68040 is an EC variant which means it doesn't have an integrated MMU (memory management unit) or FPU (floating point unit) ... neither of which the original 68008-based QL had either I guess.

I think I just need to run this program to get it up and running ... and then find a QXL.WIN file that has a bunch of software I can access ... ?

It also has a pair of QLAN ports, same as the original Sinclair QL, so I should be able to get both machines talking to each other ... ?
