In this video I'm doing the first test of my modified GoPro Media Mod for the Hero9 Black. Basically what I've done is to rip out the useless internal microphone capsules in the GoPro Hero9 Media Mod and replace them with a Primo EM272 omni-directional ECM electret condenser microphone capsule.
In effect this modification treats the new Primo EM272 capsule as an external microphone for the media mod. There's a cable that's soldered to the Primo EM172 inside the Hero9 media mod which comes through the back of the media mod and then connects to the 3.5mm mic jack input on the media mod.
I'll be doing a few videos soon about this setup but please let me know in comments what you think of the sound of the modification.
