Just an unboxing of my new RODE VideoMic Me-C.
The VideoMic Me-C is very similar to the other VideoMic Me range such as the original VideoMic Me TRRS microphone and the VideoMic Me-L which was designed for iOS and iPhones and iPads with the lightning connector socket and it also resembles the legendary RODE Video Micro camera mountable TRS vlogging mic. But this one connects to your SmartPhone or USB C device directly with its own USB C connection. There are no cables required to connect this microphone to your smartphone or other compatible USB C device, such as an iPad Pro or a PC or a Mac computer.
The VideoMic Me-C basically has a sound card or USB audio interface built in. The mic does the analogue to digital conversion itself and then passes that to the connected device via USB C. The VideoMic Me-C also has a two channel stereo output, just like a USB audio interface. This is on a female 3.5mm stereo jack socket plug and is designed to be used with headphones for monitoring applications that can use it.
At the end of the video I do a quick vlogging example with the Samsung Galaxy S21. I will be doing more stuff soon with the RODE VideoMic Me-C
