About this video: With the new Minecraft update, Mojang changed the way that you make netherite tools and armor. Now, you have to actually explore the nether in order to make netherite armor and tools not just mine for ancient debris.
That is still the first step of making netherite armor though - you will need to find ancient debris and mine it. The method you use for this is up to you whether it is normal strip mining, Then, take that ancient debris and turn it into netherite ingot. Each piece of armor requires one netherite ingot to craft it.
With your netherite ingots created, we can get to the new part of crafting netherite armor and tools - finding a bastion remnant. Why do you need to find a bastion? Well, now, instead of just using diamond armor and a netherite ingot in a smithing table, you need to add a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Tablet as well, and these are found in bastions.
Finding a bastion can be difficult, and there is 100% a bit of luck involved. Once you do find a bastion, you can find a netherite smithing tablet in one of the chests inside it.
After you find your netherite smithing tablet, do not use it. Instead, you will want to duplicate it. To do this, get some netherrack, diamonds, and your netherite upgrade tablet. Then, place the netherite upgrade in the top middle crafting slot. Under that, put a piece of netherrack. Then, around the outside, put diamonds. This will give you two netherite smithing tablets.
Repeat this until you have enough to make everything you want to netherite. Just be sure to never use your last tablet otherwise you will have to find it again in a different Bastion Remnant.
Once you have your netherite smithing template duplicated though, place it alongside your diamond armor or tool and a netherite ingot. When you do, you will get whatever tool or armor you put it crafted into netherite. And that’s how to make netherite tools or armor in Minecraft.
