Monkey Island 4 - Escape From Monkey Island - Walkthrough Part 5
000:05 - Run forward to get to the map screen. Here, run forward to get to the clearing with Herman Toothrot. Pick up the Coconut on the ground next to the hammock. Then speak with Herman to find out he has lost his memory.
02:28 - Head back to the map screen and make your way to the Canyon at the bottom of the island, across the river from the clearing. Pick up the Banana Picker which is next to the cactus at the right of the screen.
03:06 - Go back to the map screen and go to the Beach where we started from. Use the Banana Picker on the bunch of bananas on the tree to the left of the screen three times and the whole bunch will fall down.
04:27 - Now back to the map screen and this time go to the Vista Point to the left of the Clearing. We have a puzzle to solve here so firstly pick up a Rock and throw it to the Canal at the Right Side of the Cliff. Then quickly pick up another Rock and move the cursor to Canal in the Middle of the Cliff and when the first bolder we threw gets to the root growing out twitches throw the Rock in the Middle Canal. Quickly pick up another Rock and move the cursor to the Left Canal option. Keep an eye on the rock in the middle moving over to the left canal and when the root twitches here throw the Rock into the Left Canal. If done correctly the two rocks will hit each other sending one into the middle canal. Quickly pick up another Rock and move the cursor to the Left Canal again. Watch the rock in the middle and when it reaches the next root throw the rock into the Left Canal. Timed correctly these rocks will meet sending one into the Lava Field.
06:37 - Now go back to the map screen and head to the Volcano Castle next to the Lava Field. You should get a scene of a monkey throwing the Milk Bottle onto the Lava Field. Continue into the Castle and use the Banana Picker to pick up the Shields above the door. Walk over the bridge and speak with the Priest until he allows you to ride the Lava Boat.
10:15 - Steer the boat towards the Milk Bottle by following the path on the video, when you get close open the inventory and use the Banana Picker to pick up the Milk Bottle. Then as the boat moves around steer it towards the boulder and into the Lava Pool. Get out here, run up the ramp and use the Lone Palm tree to knock it over, creating a bridge.
11:30 - Head to the map screen and go back to the Beach next to the Clearing. Give a Banana to Timmy the Monkey and he will start to follow you. Go to the map screen and then the Canyon. making sure Timmy follows you there. Give Timmy another Banana and get him to follow you into the Mine Shaft. Run over to the big Metal Door and open the Vent. Use a Banana on the Vent and Timmy will jump through to the other side. Close the Vent. Use a Banana on the Portal and Timmy will open the door. Use the Banana Picker to pick up the Weed Whipper stuck in the cogs.
14:38 - Now head back to the map screen and go to the Lava Field, cross over the palm tree bridge to get to the Lava Pool again. Use the Weed Whipper on the Patch of Weeds here. Head to the right and cross over the bridge to get to the map.
17:07 - Run to the Monkey Village at the top of the island. Speak with Jojo Jnr. Speak with him about everything especially his hat to find out about Monkey Kombat. Write down the move Jojo shows you first. In my game it was Anxious Ape to Drunken Monkey and would also work when moving from Drunken Monkey to Anxious Ape. To use this you would press Ack, Chee and Oop.
25:45 - Before we start mastering Monkey Kombat, run over to the monkey with the Accordion use the Shields infront of them. They will drop the Accordion so you can pick it up.
26:45 - Now for Monkey Kombat. The combination of moves changes in every game so i recommend creating two tables. One for which move defeats the others and the other table for which combination allows you to change between the moves. For example in my game i worked out Gimpy Gibbon defeats Charging Chimp and Bobbing Baboon. Charging Chimp defeats Drunken Monkey and Anxious Ape. Drunken Monkey beats Gimpy Gibbon and Bobbing Baboon. Bobbing Baboon beats Anxious Ape and Charging Chimp and Anxious Ape beats Drunken Monkey and Gimpy Gibbon.
The other table i had Drunken Monkey to Anxious Ape = Ach, Chee Oop. Drunken Monkey to Charging Chimp = Oop Chee Ack. Drunken Monkey to Gimpy Gibbon = Oop Eek Ack. Drunken Monkey to Bobbing Baboon = Ack Chee Eek. Charging Chimp to Gimpy Gibbon = Ack Eek Oop. Charging Chimp to Anxious Ape = Chee Ack Eek. Anxious Ape to Bobbing Baboon = Ack Eek Chee. Anxious Ape to Gimpy Gibbon = Ack Oop Eek. Gimpy Gibbon to Bobbing Baboon = Ack Oop Chee.
If you want to use the same stance you are already in use the same sound three times e.g Oop Oop Oop. I would recommend using Jojo's advice of starting off by just copy the Monkey's stance until you get a few written down. Remember to pause the game when you are writing them down so you don't miss anything. When complete head back to Jojo Jnr.
