Mortal Kombat Theme: Trilogy Roll-Call Remix - NintendoComplete
A remix of the 1993 song, "Techno Syndrome (Mortal Kombat)" by The Immortals, most well known for its use in the first Mortal Kombat movie (1995).
By the time the first Mortal Kombat movie had been released, the thr third arcade game had already been released. I figured, why should only the original seven fighters get recognized in the super cheese-hype techno song?
I took it upon myself to rectify this egregious miscarriage of justice - almost like a long-lost brother to Dr. Samuel L. Beckett. Well, maybe that's going a bit far, but you get my meaning :)
In order to do this, I had to essentially recreate the entire original song. Using a 90s software synth and drum machine with voice samples from Mortal Kombat, MK2, MK3, and MK Trilogy, I put this together to include every character that appeared in any version of those games that was referred to by voice. That unfortunately means there is no Noob Saibot or Shao Khan, but it does include Chameleon, Ermac, and Jade here!
The video was made using the intro FMV clip from the Sega CD MK1 port as the base, hence the wretched quality of some of the scenes with kids running through the streets. I felt like the video was far too iconic to ignore though, so I reused the original filmed footage from it while splicing in newer, higher quality images from MK1 (SNES), MK2 (PS1), MK3 (PS1), MKT (PS1), and UMK3 (Saturn).
This took a fair while to make, so I really hope that you enjoy it. I used to love this song, and I'm guessing many of you did too back in the 90s!
And just remember, "Test your might!"
