Puzzle Kombat (Gamecube) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Puzzle Kombat, a bonus game included in Mortal Kombat: Decption. This playthrough was recorded from the 2005 Nintendo Gamecube version of the game.
Mortal Kombat games have always been filled with all sorts of neat, unexpected things, but i remember being thoroughly surprised (and impressed) when I first played this. I never expected to find a full game within the main game! This isn't the only one in MK6, either - it also features "Chess Kombat", which is exactly what it sounds like. Violent chess. More on that in a later video.
Puzzle Kombat, parody or not, is a really solid game on its own. It's basically Puzzle Fighter in MK clothes which is a pretty hilarious thing to do to one of the most saccharine-sweet SD puzzler games ever.
In PK, you still battle one a other over falling gems, but instead if the characters merely sitting on their side of the screen mumbling taunts every few seconds, they beat the living bejezus out of one another in this one. Lots of blood, limbs, eyeballs - it's all here, in chibi-form! The fatalities on these characters in particular are great.
So, while it lacks the attractive interface of Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, the gameplay is just about as good if you'd prefer gratuitous violence over cartoon characters posing. I quite like both.
