Today marks Round 5 of the Middle of the Pack Racing League (MPRL) Radical Eurotrip Championship for 2023 as brought to you on iRacing! We shall be taking a look back at all of the racing action which occurred on Wednesday 11th October, bringing it to you as if it were live!
With the concluding round of the Northern Cup cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, our drivers charge head-first into the Central Cup; starting with a visit to the Red Bull Ring. Characterised by its contrasting blend of long straightaways and heavy braking zones in the first half of the lap versus its blend of sweeping off-camber corners in the latter half, the 2.68 mile Austrian circuit is far more complex than its ten corner layout would suggest on paper. Yet, which of our drivers shall make it look simple today as they chase victory?
In the PRO class, whilst he may have clinched the Northern Cup by four points over fast-charging rival and Brands Hatch class winner Peter Lo, James Logsdon will know there is a long way to go in the championship. Can he maintain his lead over Lo?
In the PRO-AM class, a superb drive to overall victory last round has seen Illya Spiecker claim the first cup of the season and open up a 34 point advantage over Adam J Ballard. Will Spiecker continue to break away? Or could a change of scenery see him reeled in today?
In the AM class, consistency has proven key with Jay R Davis managing to take the Northern Cup by four points over Dustin Dos Vais. However, with the class wide open in terms of pace, could we see a new name at the top of the standings after today?
