Today marks Round 7 of the Middle of the Pack Racing League (MPRL) Radical Eurotrip Championship for 2023 as brought to you on iRacing! We shall be taking a look back at all of the racing action which occurred on Wednesday 25th October, bringing it to you as if it were live!
As we move into the second half of the season, the paddock makes its way to Germany for the Hockheimring. Originally opened in 1932 as a 7.45 mile triangle shape course which saw drivers charge through the local town of Hockenheim, the circuit has dramatically evolved through three re-designs; the latest being under the stewardship of Hermann Tilke as of 2002. Now it is a much shorter permanent 2.84 mile circuit whose 16 corners present a fascinating technical challenge due to their mix of hairpins and sweepers!
In the PRO class, in struggling for pace in Hungary, James Logsdon’s lead has been cut to three points over Peter Lo. However all eyes will be on John Croom who, in taking his first win of the season last round, has moved into third and sits only a further six points behind!
In the PRO-AM class, a rare error from Illya Spiecker at the Hungaroring saw him finish third and his advantage over last round’s winner Jon Lauzon slightly reduced to 22 points. Could this be a sign of things to come? Or will Spiecker immediately bounce back today?
In the AM class, in taking his second win of the season in Hungary, Samuel Bernardy has moved into the lead for the first time this season by five points over Jay R Davis. However, will Bernardy retain the lead after today given the fast and frantic pace of his rivals?
