Mr. Bean : Around the World 1CC android game
Mr. Bean is one of my top favorite comedians ever, so I wanted to do a game challenge that is dedicated to him.
The intro and ending only plays one time per playthrough. The only way to see it again is to clear your game save and start a fresh new playthrough. Please note I decided to unlock all countries first before doing attempts. The later country stages require a lot of beans in order to unlock the country stage. This would require a lot of replaying old stages over and over again in order to gather enough beans to unlock the next country stage. I don't think anyone wants to see me grind the same old stages over and over again, and I think 60 stages of this is already enough, so this is why I decided to unlock all country stages first before doing the 1cc attempts. However, by doing this, it would mean the intro would not play again, so it's not shown in this video. I intentionally haven't completed the final stage in order not to trigger the one-time ending. But, for anyone that wants to see the intro cutscene which explains why this game is happening, here is the video link:

Apologies for the frame drops. This will probably be the last emulator game I do until I figure out how to prevent these frame drops from happening. I never had this problem in my last (now dead) computer.
Please note that the oyster guy and Carson Clay (played by the amazing Willem Dafoe) do not appear in this game since this game is based on the animated series, not the live tv series and not the movies. There, unfortunately, are no games based on the tv series nor the movies. It would've been great if they did make games based on those.
While Mr. Bean does have several mobile games and a console game, most of it did not catch my interest. I considered the console game, but it didn't look very fun, and it has a lot of puzzles, which is like kryptonite to me, lol.
However, I finally found the game I'm looking for, which is Mr. Bean: Around the World. This game does a good job of representing Mr. Bean's character such as causing trouble wherever he goes. And it's a huge plus that Rowan Atkinson voiced Mr. Bean in this game.
This game is very simple. Basically, this game is an auto side-scroller. Mr. Bean is always running. You can't move him left or right and can't stop. You can only jump, hold button in air to use umbrella to glide, and use Mr. Bean's car. The objective of the game is to never let the old lady catch Mr. Bean. In order to not get caught, Mr. Bean has to keep avoiding obstacles in order to maintain his running speed. Whenever Mr. Bean hits an obstacle, he slows down, which will let the old lady start catching up to him. If you mess up too many times hitting too many obstacles, the old lady will catch you, and that's rip run. For a casual playthrough, you can choose to resume where you got caught by paying a certain amount of beans or can choose to restart (where you restart depends if you paid to have a checkpoint or not). For the purpose of this game challenge, my goal is to never be caught by the old lady.
The game is very basic and simple, and, yet, still very fun to play. You have to make quick decisions on what you're going to do, and where you plan to go (such as staying on the low ground or take the high ground paths). The timing to make jumps is very tricky. If you hesitate even a moment, you won't make the jump. You have to know when to use the umbrella to slow down and glide in the air longer to make farther jumps. Once you mess up, you tend to mess up again and again until the old lady catches you. I've had several close calls. Mr. Bean's car is the special move in the game. Using Mr. Bean's car will prevent the old lady from catching you when you make too many mistakes and give you max distance from her. But, the bar meter required to use the car requires a lot of beans, so it's not something you can use over and over again.
This game is a lot more difficult than it looks. One thing to note is each stage is always randomized. Trying to memorize the route of each stage will not work since the layout of obstacles and enemy placement will be different each time. You'll notice familiar patterns which are mostly the same, but you don't know when or if that pattern will appear. By the time you see it, you already have no time to think and must immediately decide what to do.
The most difficulty stage to me was the 2nd to last stage (Stage 9 of United States). That stage has the most troll obstacle patterns. The game sometimes gives you the worst pattern layouts making it extremely difficult to not mess up. I had to practice that stage so many times.
I do hope there will be more Mr. Bean games in the future. A Mr. Bean beat em up would be extremely fun. Imagine a Mr. Bean fmv game.
This was played on emulator. No cheats. No save states. No tool-assists.
Thanks for watching. =)
