I don't know when it happened and how it happened, but I am happy to say this video can finally play at 720p for the entire video with no infinite buffering anymore. =)

This is a challenge I've been wanting to do for a very long time now since Operation Darkness is one of my top favorite games.

The way I play Operation Darkness now is different than how I used to play in my old videos. I came up with a lot of new strats. I found a new fun way to use anti-tank mines. My recruits aka decoys are now even more effective because I use them to block tanks from running over the major characters that can cause a game over if they get run over by a tank. I actually use "cover move" now as it's very useful in moving long distances in a short amount of time.

Due to my own limitations on how long I can stay awake, I had to play a lot more aggressively than before and also had to make very fast decisions while also being careful to not make a bad decision that can cause someone to die and cause a game over.

By no grinding, I mean I won't be doing any of the optional AR missions. I will only be doing the main story missions. This means that all the experience I get will only be from the 27 main story missions. I will be underleveled in most parts of the game.

A character's weight and a character's level compared to the enemy's level determines how fast you get a turn in battle. The heavier you are, the longer it'll take for it to be your turn. And, if your level is really low compared to the enemy's level, then you will hardly get any turns while the enemy gets many turns before your turn.

I ended up being more underleveled than expected. A lot of things did not go as planned because enemies were getting so many more turns than my characters.

So how do I win if the enemy is getting so many more turns than my characters? The answer is to make every turn I get count like try to take out one enemy per turn per character if possible. Even if you get a really bad start, you can still turn things around if you make good decisions, get lucky (like an enemy has good healing items to loot), and remain persistent in fighting to the very end. It's truly not over until it's over.

There were a lot of times where I thought I would fail the mission, but I still kept going and kept fighting to the bitter end, and somehow made it through.

The other challenge condition is that everyone must survive until the end, including the 3 recruits I use throughout the game. Now I do die quite a lot in this playthrough, but I made sure the only ones who died were not the characters who instantly cause a game over if they die (such as Edward (aka Gundamx2), Cordelia, Gallant, and Jude). For anyone else, as long as you revive them before the stage is over, it won't be a permanent death.

Only one person can revive in this entire game, and that is Herbert. No one else and no item can revive. If Herbert dies, the run is rip. My heart stopped at 7:41:02 ; that was literally 1 tile from rip run, lol.

Fortunately, I got this in one try, which is good because I realized how exhausting it is to stay up for over 27 hours. By mission 22, I was so exhausted my brain was pretty dead. I started to make poor decisions, and it almost cost the run at times.

I'm probably the only person in the world who will ever do this.

I hope everyone enjoys watching the long journey and struggle to complete this challenge. This was a big project that took a lot of time to prepare for. I had to come up with my own strats on how to handle each mission, plan out how to manage weapons and supplies, and had to practice each stage a lot.

This was played on the Xbox 360 console.

I am happy for finally being able to complete this challenge in dedication to one of my top favorite games.
