10 reasons why you should play EA’s Star Wars Battlefront 2 in 2020, let’s go!

There are few titles that allow you to play as many characters, vehicles and spaceships as Battlefront 2: in ground battles you get 4 starting base classes, and through each match you score points that allow you to spawn as 3 more specialized classes, many vehicles, and some heroes or villains of the Star Wars universe. Heroes and Villains also have a dedicated playlist for crazy combat encounters that rarely happen in standard game types. And last the game also offers space combat with 3 base classes to start and hero ships to spawn as, in each match.

After the famous 2017 backlash, EA was forced by Disney stop their greedy exploiting of Star Wars fans worldwide, and now, nothing about that predatory system is still in Battlefront 2. If you left the game because of that reason now it’s time to jump back in, and improve your characters and abilities the old fashioned way, by playing the game! This big change also allowed Star Cards to better be balanced, and now you can still make the difference in any match without needing to play as a character that holds maxed out cards.

Star Wars battlefront 2 features all the 3 main Star Wars eras, and many maps directly inspired from locations and planets of the movies. Every map in the game recaptures perfectly the atmosphere of the movie scenes. During these 3 years DICE has been able to add in many fan favorite maps, and as you can see every new addition was very representative of the source material! Even sounds, voice lines and music were master crafted to deliver a true Star Wars experience.

Each playable class has a unique set of abilities that perfectly fits the role of that character or vehicle, and this also applies to all the alternative options they gave us to customize each individual play style based on our preferences, which ended up being many, since they originally were part of the cancelled loot box system.

This game is totally different from the one it was at launch: most of what we asked for was added through many major updates. Not only they included famously requested characters like Droidekas, Obi Wan Kenobi and vehicles such as the TX-130, but they also made multiple maps for each planet to better implement new game modes.

Heroes and villains have been perfected to really feel like an evolution of their old Star Wars Battlefront games counterparts. Hero versus villains are tight and fun multiplayer combat scenarios that you can’t find in any other recent Star Wars game.

In Capital Supremacy players fight to control 5 command posts scattered across the map to score points just like in the original Star Wars Battlefront games. This allows chaotic battles to be present in every single match and allows players to choose which command post attack or defend and also how to do it thanks to the wide character class selection to choose from. In the Republic era there is also a great additional layer: after one faction has scored enough points the game takes you to phase two - the winning faction is now on board of the losing faction’s ship and must destroy it to win the match. If the ship doesn’t get destroyed the match continues on the ground until one of the two ships is destroyed.

Updates allowed to include in Star Wars Battlefront 2 many notorious clothes and armors for each individual class, and now that the game is devoid of predatory micro-transactions players get a really fair amount of credits for each match, that are used to unlock those skins.

Thanks to the map design and the player’s class abilities it’s possible for every player to find creative solutions to win matches and score points for his or her team. Maps offer flanking spots and alternative paths, and classes can be customized so that the player can take as much advantage he or she can, in very map he learned to play in.

For years I have dreamed of what Star Wars Battlefront 3 could have been like, and after the first EA Battlefront game, and this one came out the way they did I lost all hopes to ever get a proper modern representation of Star Wars Battlefront. I’m so happy that EA was forced to stop their greed and focus on creating the game as it should have launched alongside the community, granted, some characters didn’t make it-in, and there isn’t a Capital Space Ship space boarding mode like in the originals, but if you are a Star Wars fan and you like these type of games there is surely something for you in this game, so, don’t miss out on the immersion it can deliver, because it won’t last forever.

Go play Star Wars BF 2
