Recorded talk from GIC'20.
Writing for games is nothing like writing for any previous medium. The volume of writing has to be minimal, as each text has to be succulent and sharply to the point. The story will be interrupted by gameplay in a (hopefully) smoothly blended manner. None of that can be achieved without extensive use of mapped structures. If you want to learn what are narrative structures, how to create them, and why they can improve your game, welcome to a case study of three different games - a cyberpunk noir, a romance interactive fiction, and a fantasy adventure.
