(No Commentary) Live-A-Live SNES Playthrough Part 48: By The Strength Of Your Heart
QUESTIONS ABOUT THE GAME WILL BE ANSWERED IN VIDEO DESCRIPTIONS
"HOLY SHIT THE FUCK IS THAT RED THING?!"
I have no idea, something called Apophisphio, I can't even pronounce its name right! But he is the guardian of the Dungeon of Strength for Masaru. A very simple, but somehow very annoying dungeon.
This...thing can get quite nasty due to having Silver Fang, which is in danger of petrifying you. However Sundown has something extra that I gave him, the Ariel Glove.
"WAIT, ARIEL GLOVE?"
Yep, you obtain the Ariel Glove by defeating the Jaggy Egg back at his dungeon, which I mentioned briefly but now is the time to explain. There are five superbosses you can face, each one of them having an Ariel item to equip.
Not only is it the best armour in the game, but it ALSO protects against Petrify. You want this protection.
"SO WHAT'S SO BAD ABOUT THE DUNGEON OF STRENGTH?"
When you first go through it, there are no enemies and the chests are all locked. But once you get Masaru's only weapon, the Super Bandage, EVERYTHING comes flying at you.
And there are some pretty fucking annoying enemy encounter rates in here due to the crampedness of this area, so grab everything and get out.
It's okay to run, I understand. At least Masaru can wreck people's shit now.
"OH JESUS THAT THING IS MELTING!"
Yeah normally the Titan Brad is not particularly troublesome, but she does love to appear a LOT. Also, sometimes she has those godawful minibots called Pistachios who, if you attack them, counterattack with Hell Fragrance.
Just basically hits you with every single status effect known to man. Fun fact, Cube is immune to all of them but Sleep, making him IMMENSELY useful to have.
"HEY YOU BEAT THAT ISHTAR THING!"
Yep, and we now have one of the most powerful moves in the game, the Hurricane Shot. Sundown's ultimate technique which, while random, can score right up to 999 damage at its best.
I've been waiting for this special skill for a looooong time.
"WAIT WHY WE GOING BACK TO CUBE'S PLACE?"
Because one of the optional bosses is here, a robot called Erauqs. He can be particularly tough, especially on someone with low HP like say, Sundown, but if you keep Cube close to everyone you'll be fine.
Long as you have everyone's defence above 50, and use your strongest attacks, you can beat him. He even drops the Ariel Ring for us after battling him.
