Alva's corruption chamber can add additional power to an item - at great risk.
It picks one of the following outcomes at random:
- Utterly destroy the item
- 'Brick' the item - this means corrupting it, changing it to a rare item with a random influence type (Shaper, Crusader, etc) if the item can be influenced.
- Add two Vaal implicit modifiers to an item ('double corrupt'),
- Change the colour of all of the sockets to white. This only affects sockets already on the item, not ones that might be added later.
Here's my suggestions:
Third best option: A well-rolled high demand unique jewel (Thread of Hope with good rolls, Intuitive Leap, Conqueror's Efficiency, Inspired Learning). Here you are mostly chasing -1% mana reserved, but there are other good outcomes too.
Second best option: A four socket Triad's Grip where all four sockets are the same colour as each other. Here you want 4 white sockets, but a double corrupt can be good too.
Best option: Prism Guardian. Here you are chasing the big $$$ that you'll get if you get one (or ideally two) of the following mods:
- +1 to all socketed gems
- +2 to socketed auras
- +2 to socketed AOE gems
Honourable mentions:
- Skin of the Loyal
- A 'normal' rarity (i.e. scoured) Sacrificial Garb (has a chance to become the unique Shadowstitch)
- A cluster jewel with any two of Heraldry, Purposeful Harbinger and Endbringer (these jewels are a couple exalts)
