NPC Test Map | Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy
2NPCTest is a test map that reuses the same map found in MonsterTest, featuring small, boxy rooms individual to most (but not all) NPCs found in the game. Each room is labelled outside with the NPCs that can be found within the rooms, but not every room is labelled correctly, usually missing the associated NPC.
I've listed the NPCs by the internal number and name, along with their in game name, if they have one.
Regardless, the map features both NPCs that are featured in the final and NPCs that were left unused. Some NPCs that are missing from this map include the Abydosian birds (both final and cut NPCs) and a couple of miscellaneous NPCs. Interesting to note is the appearance of the test shop, which has placeholders using text from Zero Wing. I didn't buy any items, as they're usually around 700 Scarabs and don't actually get added into the inventory.
Addendum (which will be extended if I remember anything). Ketta being referred internally as a Dark Healer has probably got something to do with her having some extended role as a healer originally. There is unused text dialogue that mentions Ketta offering services similar to Shetta, but there's either a scripted event or a random chance (I'm not really sure, just going off of text here) that Ketta will mess up the ritual and remove Ankhs instead of giving. The Dark in the internal name most likely refers to where she was probably originally located.
